Huawei Quidway S3500 Series Security Intelligent Switches
The Quidway S3500 series routing switches are box-type layer 3 wire-speed Ethernet switches with 10/100M aggregation in service provider data centers, server cluster, wiring cabinet and MAN (metropolitan area networks). Running on the VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) network operating system designed for Huawei network products, The Quidway S3500 series switches provide abundant routing protocols, traffic management, QoS, powerful bandwidth control and user management. Especially, the Quidway S3552F-HI can be implemented in a VPN solution as an MCE (Multi-instance Customer Device) by supporting multi-instance of RIP, OSPF and providing a routing table for every VPN.
The Quidway S3500 series high-performance Ethernet switches includes 6 types: S3528G, S3528P, S3552G, S3552P, S3552F and S3552F-HI.
The S3528G provides 24 10/100M BASE-TX Ethernet ports, 1 console port and 4 GIBC extended module slots.
The S3528P provides 24 10/100M BASE-TX Ethernet ports, 1 console port and 4 SFP extended module slots.
The S3552G provides 48 10/100M BASE-TX Ethernet ports, 1 console port and 4 GIBC extended module slots.
The S3552P provides 48 10/100M BASE-TX Ethernet ports, 1 console port and 4 SFP extended module slot.
The S3552F and S3552F-HI provide 1 console port, 4 GBIC extended module slots and 6 extended module slots supporting 3 kind of FE extended module with 8 ports in front.
Full Wire-speed, Multi-layer Switching
The Quidway S3500 series offers up to 13.1Mpps forwarding capability to provide the L3 wire-speed switching capability for all ports of the switch. The system offers 4 GE to meet a single piece of equipment’s requirement for multiple Gigabit uplinks and for access to the Gigabit server, thus greatly saving the equipment investment. The equipment provides a maximum of 512 subnet route interfaces. Hardware supports L3 wire-speed switching, and is able to identify and process the application traffic flows from L2 to L7. All ports have an independent data packet filter, and distinguish different application flows for different management and control.
High Reliability
The Quidway S3500 Series supports STP/RSTP and multi-VLAN based MSTP, thus greatly improving the redundant back-up for links and the fault tolerance capability, so that the network can run stably. The Quidway S3500 Series supports the optional Redundant Power System (RPS) and can provide power redundancy for one equipment, thus improving the fault tolerance capability and normal network operation duration. The Quidway S3500 Series supports Virtual Route Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), and can build a VRRP back-up group with other L3 switches. They can build a redundant route topological structure when a fault occurs to guarantee communication continuity and reliability, so that the network can remain stable. The Quidway S3500 Series implements redundant back-up routes by configuring multiple equivalent routes. When the active uplink route becomes faulty, it will automatically switch to the next back-up router, thus achieving multi-level back-up for uplink routes.
Abundant QoS Policies
The S3500 Series supports L2~L7 complex flow classification based on the source MAC address, destination MAC address, source IP address, destination IP address, port, or protocol. They can support up to 1K flow rules. The Quidway S3500 Series supports flexible queue scheduling algorithms, which can be set on the basis of port and queue at the same time. It supports Strict Priority (SP), Weighted Round Robin (WRR), and SP+WRR; 8 priority queues and 3 drop precedence; WRED congestion avoidance algorithm and port traffic shaping. The Quidway S3500 Series supports Committed Access Rate (CAR), and limits the traffic speed with 8Kbit/s granularity.
Comprehensive Security Control Policies
Based on the longest-prefix match routing policy, The Quidway S3500 series forwards the packets one by one so that the packets acquire the same forwarding performance. This can guard the network against the attack by Code Red and Worm Blaster, thus guarantee the equipment security. The Quidway S3500 Series supports 802.1x and Web Portal authentication to identify users who attempt to access the network. They can also prevent unauthorized access to the network by binding any combination of MAC, IP, VLAN and PORT. Especially, the Quidway S3552F-HI supports multi-instance of RIP, OSPF and provides a routing table for every VPN. Thus the Quidway S3552F-HI can be implemented in a VPN solution as an MCE (Multi-instance Customer Device) with high security. Further more, the Quidway S3552F-HI provides various access control policies by ACL and network resource access rights of different users can be controlled.
Diversified Management Modes
The Quidway S3500 Series supports SNMP (simple Network Management Protocol) v1/v2/v3 and be managed by Quidview NMS. It supports CLI (Command Line Interface), Web network management, TELNET, and HGMP cluster management, so that equipment management becomes more convenient.
