Huawei Quidway AR46 Series

Quidway AR46 är utvecklad med tonvikt på tjänster och prestanda. Detta är en högpresterande, oerhört pålitlig router med flertalet tjänster, användbar för stora nätverk, WAN, LAN och operatörs nät.

AR46 består av tre modeller: AR46-80, AR46-40 och AR46-20, med åtta, fyra eller två kortplatser.

Beroende på nätverkets storlek kan AR46 tjänstgöra som en corerouter, edge router eller som convergence router.

Overview

Based on the design concept of ”paying equal attention to services and performances, and smooth evolution of services”, we launch high-performance, high-reliability multi-service routers, the Quidway AR46 Series Intelligent Service Central Routers that orient overall service and open service model, for enterprise core, industry and operator networks.

The Quidway AR46 series routers have three models, namely, AR46-80, AR46-40 and AR46-20, which provide eight slots, four slots and two slots respectively. According to the network scale, the AR46 router can serve as a core router in a corporation network, as an edge router in a carrier network and as a convergence router in a large industry network.

Highly-effective Dual-bus Architecture

The Quidway AR46 router adopts a unique dual-bus architecture that consists of two independent PCI buses, high-performance PowerPC, and the IP Turbo EngineTM technology with intellectual property right, thus greatly improving system forwarding capabilities. Its forwarding capacity reaches up to 1000 Kpps, which is much greater than the equivalences in the industry. The AR 46 router provides high-performance service, so its forwarding performance does not fall observably in processing various services.

End-to-end Reliability Guarantee

• Redundancy design of key component The Quidway AR46 series consider high-reliability requirement for networking applications. It enhances technologies of high-end routers and adopts redundancy design for key components, such as bus, power supply, heat dissipation system, and BootROM. In addition, it adopts dual power modules with redundancy (1 + 1 standby) and supports AC and DC input. Note that the bus here is not designed with redundancy.
• Hot swap for key modules All the interface cards, power supplies, fans of the Quidway AR 46 router support hot swap, thus meeting the requirements for network maintenance, upgrade, and optimization.
• Software online patch The Quidway AR 46 series provides the unique software online patch function, thus guaranteeing services are uninterrupted during software optimization.
• Abundant network redundancy The Quidway AR 46 series has abundant functions, such as link backup, link binding, routing backup, dial-in backup, and VRRP, thus ensuring the reliability of network nodes and the entire network. Through overall guarantee, the Quidway AR46 series can implement 7 x 24 hour uninterrupted operation.

Easy to Maintain and Human-centered Design

The Quidway AR 46 series fully takes design for testability (DFT) into consideration, and provides a unique fault location and analysis tool based on DFT. Network engineers can locate system faults rapidly and accurately through running the fault diagnosis software on PC. In addition, the system provides query of system status and alarm information, and rich diagnosis test methods.

High Integration Security

The Quidway AR46 router is integrated with multiple security features, such as packet filtering firewall, dynamic firewall, ISPKeeper DOS defense system, NAT, user authentication, security log, equipment security, VPN encryption, service isolation (VR). In this case, the AR46 series tailored a security policy for network users in time, space, and network layer.

The Quidway AR46 series has perfect service capabilities, such as routing, MPLS, VPN, multicast, voice, security, QoS, IPv6, wideband access, three-in-one networking. All services are specially designed for enterprise core environments. The Quidway AR46 series is integrated with such functions as router, FW, intrusion detection, VPN gateway, voice gateway, wideband access gateway, layer 2 switch, which completely adapts to the requirements for network integration. Further, it can flexibly implement a combination of multiple equipment functions and services based on different application environments.
