Huawei Quidway AR28-1X Series Modular Branch Routers
AR 28-1X är utvecklad av Huawei specifikt för företagsnätverk. Beroende på nätverkets storlek, kan Quidway AR28-1X vara antingen corerouter på mindre till medelstora nätverk, eller access router för lokala nät. AR 28-1X är också användbar på carrier nätverk hos te.x. telekombolag och internetleverantörer.
AR 28-1X har en snabb PowerPC processor, och använder Huawei:s nätverksoperativsystem: VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) som gör konfiguration till en enkel uppgift.
Overview
The Quidway AR 28-1X Series Router is developed by Huawei Technologies independently for enterprise networks. Depending on network size, Quidway AR 28-1X Router can be either the core router on small to medium-sized enterprise networks, or the access router for the network branches on some large-sized enterprise networks. The series is also suitable for the use on carrier networks such as telecom management networks and billing networks.
The AR 28-1X series adopts modular design and provides a wide range of multifunctional interface modules (MIMs) and smart interface cards (SICs). In addition, the series provides AC- powered and DC-powered units.
The AR 28-1x series adopts high-speed microprocessor PowerPCs. The series operates on Huawei network operating system platform VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) which makes configuration an easy task. The series delivers:

As software and hardware of the series are designed in compliance with international standards, the router can interoperate with products of other vendors at all layers. This protects user investment to the maximum degree.
Abundant Interface Types
The Quidway AR 28-1X Routers support many different service interfaces, including synchronous serial, asynchronous serial, FE, E1/T1/PRI, ISDN BRI, E3, FXS, FXO, E&M, E1VI, T1VI, ATM, ADSL and so on. They also fully meet various networking requirements of DDN, Frame Relay, X.25, PSTN, ISDN, ATM etc.
Perfect Security Protecting System
The Quidway AR 28-1X series provides comprehensive security solutions. The security solution contains packet-filtering firewall, network address translation (NAT), Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA), VPN, Call Back service, log administration, and so on.
Constructing VPN
Intranet VPN interconnects distributed points of the Intranet through the public network to serve as the extension or replacement of traditional leased line networks or other Intranets. Access VPN helps set up secure channels for small-sized users such as SOHO to access the resources of the company headquarters through PSTN/ISDN. Extranet VPN extends the Intranets to the partners or the clients, so as to enable different Intranets to conduct secure and private communications to each other through the public network. The Quidway AR 28-1X series mainly serves as L2TP Network Server (LNS).
